Nonprofits and charities are fighting for their lives at a time when the communities they serve have never needed them more. That’s not lost on a South Florida tech company focused on the sector.

As the COVID -19 pandemic wreaks chaos on public health and the economy, Arreva, a South Florida-based provider of fund-raising and donor management software, announced an acquisition it says is part of its strategy to help nonprofits with what’s working now, in the rapidly changing, increasingly virtual and online fundraising landscape.

Arreva, a provider of all-in-one, cloud-based, fundraising and donor relationship management software for nonprofits based in Fort Lauderdale, announced this week that it has acquired MaestroSoft, a leading provider of live and virtual auction and event management solutions including its Text2Bid virtual and mobile bidding software and Text2Fund text-based mobile giving software.

MaestroSoft will continue to operate as a stand-alone Arreva Company, and retain its leadership and team in Seattle.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

David Blyer, CEO of Arreva

“Now, more than ever, it is essential for nonprofits to have unified technology solutions that can help them deploy and manage strategies from a singular platform, especially during the age of social distancing,” said David Blyer, co-founder and CEO of Arreva, in the announcement. “Our acquisition of MaestroSoft reinforces our commitment to provide nonprofits with proven technology, which combined with expert advice, provides new ways to communicate and continue to deliver results through virtual events, peer-to-peer fundraising, text giving, and a myriad of online fundraising campaigns as we see an accelerated shift of nonprofits to virtual fundraising and events.”

Arreva was a result of a merger in 2017 between DonorCommunity in Fort Lauderdale and Telosa Software to form Arreva. The company is now headquartered in Fort Lauderdale with offices in Palo Alto. DonorCommunity, one of the early players in the cloud-based nonprofit software, space was founded by Blyer, a computer industry veteran and serial software entrepreneur, in 2010. Before that, he co-founded, headed and sold Vento Software.
